Perfluoropentanone is a new type of environmentally friendly insulation and arc-killing liquid. Because of its non-toxic, low GWP value and better arc-killing performance than SF6, it has been widely used as a substitute for SF6 in electrical equipment. It must be mixed with one or more of the gases such as CO2, N2, O2, etc.
