Perfluoroisobutyronitrile

Perfluoroisobutyronitrile is a new type of environmentally friendly insulation and arc extinguishing gas. It has been widely used to replace SF₆ in electrical equipment, such as gas insulated closed assembly (GIS), gas filled cabinet (C-GIS), gas insulated circuit breaker (GCB) and gas insulated pipe bus (GIL), etc. It has low toxicity, low GWP value, and better arc-killing performance than SF₆. It can be used alone or in combination with one or more of the gases such as CO₂, N₂, and O₂.
